For our last session, we were down Hilgari, but you pulled together and powered down through room after room, past the room of purple writhing fungus, past the pit/puzzle room, past and through the giant frog things – finally finding solace at the font of worship for Kassen’s Grace. We pushed through the room with the spinning wheel and all the spikes and bolts ready to explode, and the crypt with the exploding zombie things, past the pool of terror, the bat swarms, and the bull-rushing statues. It was an epic and productive run. …But, we faded and got tired just shy of the final chambers, and just shy of 3rd level. Hilgari was left on a level above, sheltering with Roldare, the ‘fraidy-cat that shot him with a crossbow as Hilgari pushed in his barricade. The full story lies here.
But this session found everyone in attendance (I think). You guys faced down Asar Vergas, in his undead form. You killed him, and his skeleton minions and hit 3rd on the 3rd night of play. You rescued fair (and hot) Dimira and were generally victorious.
In Asar’s crypt, beside his sarcophagus, you found a corpse wearing a gray cloak and an iron mask. It bore a note that read, “the amulets are entombed with Asar and Kassen.” The corpse also bore a wand, a spell book, and some magic bracers, along with some coins and a horn of unusual manufacture.
Back in your little village, you relit the Everflame in Kassen’s temple – but all was not celebration. Moments after returning, one of your village comrades came panting into town. Edurne, second cousin of Alazne, had escaped the slavers, and was being pursued. You guys went and laid ambush to that pursuit party and wiped them out…. Now to rescue your fellow villagers from the slavers fortress…
